This past Saturday I had the pleasure to see One More Time: a Tribute to Daft Punk at our local Ace of Spades. It was great to support a local business as well as see a Daft Punk themed show with lights and great songs/remixes. I heard the show was going to be amazing, and I wasn’t disappointed! And because I use any chance I get to dress up, I planned and wore this adorable outfit…
New to the local blogging scene, Sara Cathleen of saracathleen.wordpress.com is a student from Davis who is not only fashionable, but talented! I have a lot to say about Sara and how wonderful she is, but this Q&A I did with her successfully speaks for both me as an interviewer blown away by Sara and Sara herself!

My photographer and new friend Don Gier of Donald Gier Photography/Design was kind enough to shoot me wearing a dress and hairpiece set from designer and friend Cyril Lumboy (dolldelight) and jewelry from local steampunkers River City Makers! Gier has a large amount of pictures from the shoot that aren’t in the magazine, but these two are perhaps my favorite…

A lot has happened since the beginning of the year—sure, I had my heart broken in 2012. But in 2013 I passed all my classes for this previous semester (not that I’ve failed a class, but I think I should be happy about passing my classes all the same) modeled for runway and print, had my designs displayed in a magazine, gained two internships, partnered up with very talented individuals to blog, be credited for doing make-up and styling for photo shoot and go to San Diego Comic Con in a cosplay that I (mostly) made—and got great reviews on the costume.
During this summer break I had a lot to think about—specifically my next steps to take to continue striving in this local fashion industry we have in Sacramento. And while reflecting, I have had some great local artists introduced to me this year in my Fashion Retail course to think about as I mapped out the rest of the year with projects and goals that I want to accomplish.
With an eye for color and flattering silhouettes, local Sacramento designer Maisha Bahati knows the desires of women when it comes to fashion and apparel. When I was first introduced to her designs, I was blown away by the boldness of her dresses and how they are perfect for those wanting to look and feel confident as well as beautiful.
Recently, I have had the pleasure of doing a small interview with the designer about her art– I was a bit nervous, considering I have never really done an interview like this before! But I honestly am both excited and blessed to know individuals such as Bahati and William G. who are prominent in the local community– their drive and passion inspires me to keep pushing forward my fashion dreams and thus proving the Sacramento is rich in fashion and full of potential and positive energy.
Reading Bahati‘s small biography on her website, I have become curious about a few things that I knew would be perfect questions to ask her in a Q&A for my blog…
