My photographer and new friend Don Gier of Donald Gier Photography/Design was kind enough to shoot me wearing a dress and hairpiece set from designer and friend Cyril Lumboy (dolldelight) and jewelry from local steampunkers River City Makers! Gier has a large amount of pictures from the shoot that aren’t in the magazine, but these two are perhaps my favorite…

Sorry for being absent—I was on vacation to San Diego for Comic Con! I got some cute fashion items there that are exclusive to the event (along with some awesome collectible figures [not pictured here]!) as well as this beautiful Sandman-themed SDCC shirt! Free buttons and lanyards were also passed out not just at the convention, but all around San Diego—the whole city was in on SDCC!
With an eye for color and flattering silhouettes, local Sacramento designer Maisha Bahati knows the desires of women when it comes to fashion and apparel. When I was first introduced to her designs, I was blown away by the boldness of her dresses and how they are perfect for those wanting to look and feel confident as well as beautiful.
Recently, I have had the pleasure of doing a small interview with the designer about her art– I was a bit nervous, considering I have never really done an interview like this before! But I honestly am both excited and blessed to know individuals such as Bahati and William G. who are prominent in the local community– their drive and passion inspires me to keep pushing forward my fashion dreams and thus proving the Sacramento is rich in fashion and full of potential and positive energy.
Reading Bahati‘s small biography on her website, I have become curious about a few things that I knew would be perfect questions to ask her in a Q&A for my blog…
Never have I dreamed that people would actually search me out and ask me to blog for them– especially someone like Michael William G. He completely embodies what it takes to be a stylist– creativity, taste, a keen eye of detail, drive, professionalism as well as humbleness. What caught my attention was that the way he constructs a look is thoughtful and clean and his understanding of whats current and fashionable is present in his work; like all artists, Michael tells a intriguing story with each outfit he puts together. Truly, Michael is one who understands the trade of wearable art.
Michael was more than happy to offer me some looks he put together to be posted on my lil’ ol’ blog! They are perfect for this holiday of American Independence. See below the cut for some rad outfits!

I am incredibly fortunate to be able to attend Project Runway season 11’s and Sacramento’s very own inspiring Richard Hallmarq‘s fashion show this past weekend at The Park Ultra Lounge hosted by Courtney Dempsey of Good Day Sacramento! The venue itself was intimate and stylish– a perfect setting for such a chic designer’s runway presentation!
