I have been extremely lucky—I have met many people and took advantage of a lot of opportunities that have been nothing but beneficial. From blogging, to styling, to internships, to modeling—I can honestly say that I am truly blessed and through all the experiences I am sure that this is the field that I want to spend the rest of my life in; I really like what I have worked with so far.
For anyone planning to go into this field and wants to align their college studies with their fashion dreams, I can only give out tips from someone who has been there and who is still quite ‘there’.
Guess who wrote an article for her campus’s blog/online magazine?
Info is under the cut!
“But she wears short skirts/She wears high heels,
I wear t-shirts/I wear sneakers,
She’s cheer captain,
And I’m on the bleachers….“
Yeah… you know the rest…
I don’t what T. Swift is trying to imply about girls (like me) who wear skirts and heels rather than sneakers and t-shirts but it seems to have a very negative connotation. It’s like, to her, girls who like fashion must automatically be superficial and boy-crazy (and I was cheer captain at one point–along with an honors student, theatre kid, art award(s) recipient an anime club member but none of that matters because apparently my shoes reflect the fact that I’m mean and nasty on the inside!).
Why can’t girls be fashionable, kind, well-rounded, etc?
I think we need some music that deals with fashion in a positive perspective…
This song is so popular and I hear it everywhere– especially during fashion shows.
Bad thing? Not exactly. But I really would love some variety here. Below the cut are some songs I also find fitting (get it? ‘Fitting’. It’s a joke. Related to apparel!) for the runway!
As cute as this is, I don’t think this is a necessity for my closet.
